MESA (Friday, August 4, 2017) -- FC Arizona's Andrew Weber, Jon Guse, and Cesar Mexia were named to the National Premier Soccer League West Region Best XI. Players were voted in by the team themselves.

All three players contributed greatly to FC Arizona's incredible success this season. FC Arizona, playing in inaugural season, won the Southwest Conference title with an undefeated record at 12-0-4. The club scored 47 goals and conceded just three. The club advanced to the playoff and defeated Albion SC Pros in the West Region Quarterfinals before suffering a loss to Orange County FC in the Semifinals.

Weber started every game in goal for FC Arizona and recorded 13 clean sheets. The McClintock High School graduate and former MLS Cup winner with the Portland Timbers in 2015 was pivotal down the stretch for FC Arizona as his performance in the final regular season match against Riverside Coras helped FC Arizona secure an undefeated season and the Southwest Conference title. Weber's performance in the playoff cannot be overlooked as he made multiple keys saves to keep FC Arizona's playoff chances alive in both matches against Albion and Orange County.

Mexia led the team in goals and assists this year with nine and seven, respectively. The Trevor Brown High School graduate and former Segunda Division forward in Mexico provided a constant attacking threat for FC Arizona throughout the regular season.  Mexia's play in the final regular season match cannot go overlooked as he provided the assist of the game winning goal and he then added his own goal to secure the Southwest Conference title for FC Arizona. Mexia also scored for FC Arizona in its first-ever played match.

Guse anchored what was arguably the best defense in the entire National Premier Soccer League this season. The Hamilton High School graduate and former Sereno SC defender helped FC Arizona conceded just three goals this season. No other team in the league allowed less goals. Guse also started for FC Arizona in both of its playoff matches.

FC Arizona would like to congratulate these three players and the entire squad for an incredible season this year.
